Weather for the week of Sept. 8, 2025
Smoke hangs over Quincy as seen from the parking lot of the Quincy School District Transportation Department office. Air quality was lower than usual in the Columbia Basin last week due to forest fires in the Cascades and elsewhere. Forecasters are hopeful that rain this coming week will help knock down the smoke and the fires causing it.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. Southeast wind around 6 mph becoming south in the afternoon. A 30% chance of showers, mainly after 11 p.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 61. South wind around 6 mph becoming northeast after midnight. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.
Tuesday: A chance of showers before 8 a.m., then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 76. South wind around 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. A 20% chance of evening showers before 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. Southwest wind around 6 mph becoming northwest after midnight.
Wednesday: A 30% chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 80. North wind 5 to 7 mph. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible. A 30% chance of evening showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 60.
Thursday: A 40% chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 74. That night will see a 20% chance of showers before 11 p.m. Partly cloudy, with a low around 58.
