Ephrata PD

Jan. 19

Report of an assault at Ephrata High School. Juvenile victim reported she was jumped in a bathroom at the school and sustained injuries. Fight reportedly stemmed from an issue over a boy.

Report of a subject wearing nothing but underwear at a laundromat in the 200 block of Alder Street Northwest. Upon law enforcement’s arrival subject was wearing a sweater but no pants. Subject put his pants back on and left.

Jan. 21

Report of two flashlights and wire stolen from a business in the 1300 block of Nat Washington Way.

Report of a subject at the train station wanting mental health assistance. Officer found the subject difficult to understand and very emotional. Officer gave the subject a ride to Columbia Basin Hospital and stayed until the subject had given a blood sample and received medication. 

Jan. 23

Report of a cooler full of food items stolen on Basin Street Southwest. Reporting party was defrosting her refrigerator and left the items in front of her apartment door, and unknown subject took it.

Report of a two-vehicle non-injury collision at C Street and Third Avenue Southwest.

Report of theft from a business on Nat Washington Way. Female subject was concealing items in her purse. Subject was contacted, admitted to the theft and returned the items.

Report of multiple firearms stolen from a residence whose owner was out of the area.

Report of attempted theft from a business in the 1300 block of Nat Washington Way. Subject left a cart at checkout, then fled.

Report of 10 gallons of diesel fuel siphoned from a vehicle in the 600 block of D Street Southeast.

Jan. 18

Report of a home invasion and burglary on West Peninsula Drive. Reporting party found his door kicked in and found his girlfriend, another female subject and an unknown male subject walking out. When the reporting party confronted them, the male displayed a handgun. The two stole a pair of shoes from the reporting party.

Report of mailboxes damaged on East Seventh Avenue.

Report of a vehicle stolen from a residence on East Seventh Avenue. The vehicle was located and returned to its owner, but an electric scooter was stolen from the vehicle.

Report of shoes stolen from a business in the 900 block of North Stratford Road.

Report of a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of West Broadway Avenue and South Alder Street. Driver 1 was stopped at the stoplight and driver 2, behind him, was unable to stop in the snow. Driver 2 fled the scene in a silver SUV with a German shepherd in the back.

Jan. 19

Report of an attempt to pass a counterfeit $100 bill at a business in the 1200 block of South Pioneer away. Cashier denied the purchase and the suspect fled.

Report of two subjects smoking fentanyl behind a building in the 500 block of South Pioneer Way.

Report of a vehicle prowl in the 2800 block of West Driggs Drive. 

Report of a two-vehicle injury collision at the intersection of North Central Drive and West Valley Road. 

Report of a two-vehicle non-injury collision in the 1200 block of South Pioneer Way.

Report of two juveniles stealing Pokemon cards from a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road.

Jan. 20

Report of theft from a business in the 60-0 block of South Pioneer Way. Suspect concealed makeup and batteries in his coat, then paid for other items and left the store.

Report of a wallet stolen out of a vehicle and the cards in it used. The suspect was identified with video surveillance and was later located and taken into custody.

Jan. 21

Report of approximately 100 pounds of meat stolen from a business in the 300 block of West Broadway Avenue. Officers recovered about half of the stolen property.

Report of food and pop stolen from a business in the 600 block of South Pioneer Way.

Report of juveniles shooting a house in the 700 block of North Doumit Drive. Two juvenile boys residing at a neighboring house admitted to the shooting and their father agreed to fix the damage.

Jan. 22

Report of a two-vehicle collision at Wheeler Road and Road N Northeast. Vehicle 1 was stopped for construction and driver of vehicle 2 did not see and rear-ended vehicle 1.

Jan. 23

Report of theft from a business in the 600 block of South Pioneer Way. Two male and two female subjects entered the store and began concealing items in their pockets. Employees confronted the subjects and they dropped the items and left.

Report of a hit-and-run collision at the intersection of North Grape Drive and West Gary Street.

Jan. 24

Report of a female subject having a mental health crisis in the area of Longview Street Northeast. The subject was transported to the hospital.

Report of power tools stolen from a business in the 1100 block of West Broadway Avenue.

Report of theft from a business in the 1000 block of North Stratford Road.

Report of a cart full of merchandise stolen from a business in the 900 block of North Stratford Road.

Jan. 25

Report of a package valued at $300-$400 stolen from a porch on West Polo Ridge Drive. Package contained workout supplements, a computer monitor holder and a silverware tray.

Report of a credit card stolen in the 400 block of South Wanapum Drive. The card was used at another business and two of three suspects were identified.

Jan. 26

Report of a three-vehicle collision at Wheeler Road and Road L Northeast. Vehicle 1 was attempting to turn left when it was struck by vehicle 2, which spun it into vehicle 3, a semi stopped at a stop sign. No injuries were reported.

Report of a motorcycle stolen from a residence on Loop Drive while its owner was out of town. Bike is described as a yellow Yamaha 400 with K&N exhaust, blue decals and reupholstered yellow seat.

Report of a possible explosive device located by the Peninsula and Wanapum overpass. Item was a piece of military training ordnance.  WSP Bomb Squad responded and determined the device not to have explosives. 

Report of a vehicle break-in on South Pioneer Way.

Report of a hit-and-run collision in the 900 block of North Stratford Road.

Report of vehicle windows broken out in the 2300 block of South Maiers Road. A backpack was taken.

Report of a vehicle prowl in the 1400 block of East Hunter Place.

Report of a vehicle window broken out on West Valley Road. A small amount of cash was taken.

Jan. 27

Report of a vehicle prowl in the 500 block of West Valley Road.

Report of a stolen RV located in the 600 block of South Pioneer Way. Two subjects were arrested for stealing the RV and a third for an outstanding warrant.

Report of alcohol stolen from a business in the 500 block of West Valley Road.

Jan. 28

Report of lighted whip-flags stolen off an off-road vehicle on South Clover Drive.

Jan. 29

Report of a burglary at a business in the 400 block of East Broadway Avenue. Unknown subject used a collapsible baton to smash the front door. Four jackets and a number of power tools were taken. One suspect was located and arrested.

Report of a two-vehicle collision in the area of East Yonezawa Boulevard and South Maiers Road.

Report of a hit-and-run at the roundabout at East Yonezawa Boulevard and South Division Street.

Report of tools stolen out of work vehicles at a business in the 1000 block of East Broadway Avenue.

Report of a hit-and-run on West Crest Drive. Suspect vehicle was located later at the Grant County Fairgrounds.

Report of alcohol stolen from a business in the 600 block of North Stratford Road.
