MOSES LAKE — A Pasco man was seriously injured when two semi-tractor trailers collided at the intersection of Road N Northeast and South Frontage Road east of Moses Lake early Thursday, according to Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

In a statement released late Friday, the GCSO said Ramon Martinez Barajas, 32, of Pasco, was driving north on Road N around 6:45 a.m. Thursday when a second semi-tractor trailer, going east on South Frontage Road and being driven by George Bodley, 52, of Gereenbackville, Virginia, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection with Road N Northeast.

“Bodley’s trailer was ripped from the truck and slid approximately 100 feet before coming to a stop in the middle of Road N NE, just underneath the I-90 overpass,” the statement said.

Barajas was taken to Samaritan Hospital in Moses Lake before being transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, the GCSO said, adding that as of Friday, Barajas’ condition was not known.

“Bodley was not seriously injured in the collision and has since been cited for second degree negligent driving,” The sheriff’s statement said. “Both trucks and trailers were totaled.”

The sheriff’s office said the accident forced the closure of both roads for about six hours.
