February 2, 1925 – March 29, 2020

Our hearts are very saddened to announce our dad passed away on March 29, 2020 at the age of 95 with family by his side. He was born in Yakima, Washington to Glenn and Frankie Fisk on Feb. 2, 1925. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Air Force and became a pilot, flying the B-25. Fortunately for us, the conflict ended before he saw combat. In February 1946 Ken married the love of his life, Janice A. Spalding, in a small ceremony with family in Goldendale, Washington.

Ken worked in construction learning the carpenter trade, and they moved down the Oregon coast to northern California, living in small sawmill towns. In 1954, once their first daughter was school age, they made their home in Moses Lake. As an excellent carpenter, Ken helped build many of the schools, hospitals, libraries, churches and other buildings in and around Moses Lake, Ephrata, Quincy and Othello. Later in his career he was superintendent on many large highway bridges around the Pacific Northwest. One of his most challenging jobs was one in Dutch Harbor, Alaska. He was the superintendent with a crew that cleared, surveyed and built a dock to enable fishing vessels to come to port to pick up supplies.

They built a homestead in Skyline Acres and expanded their family by four more children. The family lived in the house that Ken built for 63 years. Ken was very well-liked and respected by his community, friends and family. His family was his priority; he was a strong but gentle, kind and thoughtful, special man who was loved and respected by his family. Ken enjoyed the outdoors, beach vacations, camping and hunting and he was also an avid reader who loved history. Ken and Jan Fisk had just celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary this past Feb. 28. Ken is missed and survived by his loving wife Janice; five children Daune (Daniel) Jordan, Mark Fisk, Suzi (Randy) Radach, Jim Fisk and Dave (Carie) Fisk; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

A private funeral took place in Moses Lake on April 3, 2020. There will be a celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a donation to Wounded Warriors Project would have been his choice.
