December 27, 1940 – March 4, 2020

David Fielding Greene was born to Fielding and Geneva Greene on Dec. 27, 1940, in Saint Charles, Minnesota. Dave grew up in Minnesota and later in Santa Monica, California. In his youth, he enjoyed spending time at the beach and his car club and attended Lutheran High School in Los Angeles, California.

In the fall of 1959, Dave moved back to New London, Minnesota, where his parents had purchased the Red Owl Grocery Store. This is where he met the love of his life, Sharon. Dave and Sharon were married on Aug. 21, 1960, at the Lebanon Lutheran Church in New London. They moved to southern California and eventually landed in the Portland, Oregon, area. This is where they raised their five children.

Dave had a successful career in management and district management for Safeway Stores, Inc. in the Portland area. In retirement, he managed convenience stores, resorts (MarDon) and RV parks. Dave and Sharon enjoyed an RV life for a while, traveling and working summers in Yellowstone. In his final years, they lived in Vancouver, Washington, and eventually Moses Lake, Washington. Dave liked to fish, hunt, camp and especially boat with the family.

He is succeeded in death by his parents Fielding and Geneva Greene and his in-laws Earl and Lucille Larimer. Dave is survived by his wife of 60 years Sharon; children Deirdre and Marshall Hensley, Heidi and Pat Meier, Dustin and Madena (Parsley) Greene, Jeffrey Greene and Jeremy and Terri Greene; 14 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Columbia Basin Cancer Foundation and The Hospice House of Spokane.

A celebration of life is scheduled for a later date.
