May 20, 1939 – July 12, 2020

Lewis Claire Bright passed away Sunday, July 12, 2020, with his family by his side.

He was born May 20, 1939, to Claire and Lottie Bright in Vancouver, Washington. He graduated from Evergreen High School, and had a love for cars that began early. It was a hobby and career for him.

He started selling cars in Western Washington and California, eventually moving to Moses Lake where he worked for Swanson Motors, C & V Auto and then smaller car lots as he neared retirement.

Lewis was a talker and if you ran into him you weren’t getting away without hearing about “that El Camino.”

He loved Gonzaga basketball, the Seahawks and the outdoors, taking many trips hunting and fishing with his wife Tommie of 36 years. Retirement for Lewis was coffee at McDonald’s, bingo and attending car shows.

Lewis is survived by his wife Tommie; his brother John Bright of Raymond, Washington;, his children Gary Schlomer of Indiana, Pam (and Scott) Landis of Eugene, Oregon; Teresa Hird of Yakima, Washington, Gordon Bright of Pendleton, Oregon, Darrell Bright of Tacoma, Washington and Timothy (and Hannah) Thompson of Rancho Cordova, California; his stepdaughters Lisa Walker (and Rocky) Curry of Tacoma, Washington, Teresa (and Bryan) Bickel of Moses Lake, Washington and Wendy (and Chad) Michel of Moses Lake, Washington; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Claire and Lottie Bright of Raymond, Washington, and three grandsons Nicholas Willard, Emilio Phelan and Cole Michel.

His family celebrated his life July 16 in Moses Lake, Washington, at Blue Heron State Park. Lewis will be laid to rest next to his parents in Raymond, Washington.
