DAVENPORT — Authorities say two suspects are in custody after being seen searching through mailboxes of homes in an area north of Davenport and that in their possession was mail from residents across Central Washington and beyond.

The Lincoln County Dispatch Center received a phone call on Tuesday, Feb. 11, about the occupants of a vehicle searching through mailboxes, according to a Facebook post from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Three sheriff’s deputies responded to the call, located the vehicle on Highway 25 and followed the suspects. Officers later booked 35-year-old Karalynn Solis and 36-year-old Leora Guery into the Lincoln County Jail.

Upon obtaining a search warrant, deputies found hundreds of pieces of mail that included drivers licenses, tax forms, passports, credit cards and other personal mail, as well as felony narcotics, according to the Lincoln County sheriff.

On Thursday, Feb. 13, the sheriff’s Facebook page gave locations and amount of mail that had been taken. There were 35 pieces from Othello, three pieces from Warden, 85 pieces from Moses Lake, and two pieces from Ritzville. Deputies also found 52 pieces of mail from Davenport, 92 from Pasco, 32 from Wenatchee, 120 from East Wenatchee, one from Ephrata, 13 from Entiat, 53 from Kennewick, 27 from Chelan, 25 from Coulee Dam, 47 from Grand Coulee, one from Olympia, one from Spokane Valley, one from Malaga and two from Yakima. Of the 593 pieces of mail obtained, there were 43 credit and debit cards, three gift cards, eight IDs and drivers licenses and two passports. None of the names matched the names of the suspects.

Those with stolen mail are being notified.
