More on WSU Master Gardener training

Saturday, Nov. 16, 1 to 3 p. m. at the Huck Fuller Grange Building Mary Shinn, a WSU Grant-Adams Master Gardener presenter for the Spokane Master Gardeners will present the challenges of sustaining healthy soil in the face of increasing population, urbanization and consumption. Mary was formerly a WSU Grant-Adams Master Gardener who began in 2003.

Saturday, Dec. 7, time and place to be determined. Wendy Descamp, Education Specialist for the Washington State Noxious Weed board, will present “Weeds and Weeds Management.” Wendy has degrees in Biology and Forest Resources from the University of Washington. Prior to her position on the state noxious weed board, she was collections manager for the herbarium at the University of Washington Botanical Gardens.

Deadlines

Interns have until Dec. 31 to complete and pass the online portion of the WSU Master Gardener Program course work. Then, interns have the following year to complete 50 hours of volunteer time that leads to their certification as WSU Master Gardeners.
