Othello — The Adams County Sheriff’s Posse presented a $2,700 check to Adams County Sheriff Dale Wagner on Thursday, March 28. The money will go towards the purchase of a new weapons storage.

The money was raised during the Adams County Sheriff’s Posse annual dinner and auction that was held on March 2.

“We raised $5,998 and netted $5,387 after expenses,” said Heather Peters, secretary/treasurer for the Adams County Sheriff’s Posse. “We have committed 50 percent of our net to the Adams County Sheriff’s Department.”

The rest of the money raised will go towards scholarships, the 4-H Fairgrounds, 2019 Othello Rodeo Queen Isabella Walraf and funding the sheriff’s posse activities.

Donations for the auction included a basic will package from Sackmann Law valued at $900, a load of gravel from Walker Gravel valued at $300 and $100 of shop time from Othello Welding. Raffled was $100 in fuel from Lawrence Oil. The raffle generated $758.
