July 9, 1935 – April 6, 2018

Shirley Jean Gabrio, 83, laid to rest with the Lord on April 6, 2018.

Shirley Jones Goodwin Gabrio was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. She was born on July 9, 1935 to Jeff and Georgia Jones in Pottsboro, Texas. The Jones family moved to Moses Lake to work on the East Low Canal when Shirley was the young age of 12. She attended and graduated in 1953 from Moses Lake High School. In 1954, she married Don Goodwin and they had two children, Jackie and Rod. She married Ken Gabrio in 1973 and gained a daughter in Joan.

Shirley worked as a data processor for U & I Sugar Company for 13 years, then as a secretary for several companies, including Gabrio Livestock Transport, owned and operated by Ken and Shirley. They retired in 1992 to travel and spend time at their river property up in Entiat.

Some of her favorite pastimes include gambling and playing cards. She loved her gals at Bridge Group. She had a green thumb and loved to tend her yard and plants. Shirley had lots of spunk and loved with a big heart.

Survivors include son Rod Goodwin and his wife Debbie and daughter Joan Gabrio Grubb Varney and her husband Tim; grandchildren Jared Goodwin, Joshua Goodwin, Nick Varney and Bri Varney and great-grandchildren Liam Grubb, Jason Grubb, and Holly Grubb. Besides her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Ken and her daughter Jackie Goodwin.

We all will truly miss her very much.

You made our hearts happy. Love you, Mom!
