GRANDVIEW — The Huskies overpowered the Greyhounds in Grandview Saturday, taking both games of a road doubleheader to move to 6-1 in CWAC Conference action and 7-2 overall on the season.

Jose Calzadillas pitched a complete game shutout in Othello’s 4-0 win in the opener. The Huskies went up top 1-0 in the top of the second inning on a Valente Garza one out RBI line drive single to center. Othello added three in the top of the seventh on RBIs from Valente Garza, AJ Pruneda and Jaxon Rocha.

GAME 2

Othello blew out Grandview 12-1 in the nightcap. AJ Pruneda wielded the big stick for the Huskies going 4-for-4 at the dish and 5 RBI, including a grand slam in the top of the second. Pruneda was also the winning pitcher of record going 5 innings on the bump, giving up 1 run off 4 hits while fanning 5 Greyhounds.

Othello, now in a three-way tie for second in the standing with Selah and Ellensburg, hits the pavement Saturday for a twin bill with the Bulldogs. First pitch is slated for 11 a.m.
