Schools benefit the whole community

| March 16, 2017 3:00 AM

But you do use the public schools, Robert Meade. You wrote a letter to the editor titled “Unjust property tax vote” published in the CBH on March 9. You expected there to be a literate public who could read your letter and understand your five paragraphs of argument. Writing a public letter assumes a literate public, which is made possible by public schools that teach literacy. The assumptions that make your letter possible undermine your message. Please accept that we all benefit when there is an educated public made possible by public schools.
