Popular songstress, band back at George

GEORGE – Kathy Boyd, who has pleased audiences all over, including George, will be the feature artist on Saturday, March 10, in the George Coffee House Concert Series.

Boyd will be accompanied by the Phoenix Rising Band. It boasts the 2008 Roots Music Association bluegrass song writer of the year, Dennis Nelson, and Tom Tower, winner of 2010 International City Love Music Contest $10,000 award.

Admission to the concert will be $3, and a hat will be passed for the benefit of the musicians. The Coffee House Concerts are held in the George Community Hall at 403 W. Montmorency.

The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The show will start at 7 p.m.

“This group is all about stories, and stories are what you get with their original material,” George Community Hall Director Debby Kooy said. “You get an unforgettable evening with this energetic band, plus some fresh-baked refreshments thrown into the bargain.
