MATTAWA - The Columbia Basin Health Association clinic in Mattawa has scheduled healthy heart screenings for women on Friday, Feb. 3.

This free wellness check-up will go from 10 a.m-2 p.m. Appointments will not be required. Participants will be referred to medical professionals if a problem is identified.

This screening is part of the National Wear Red Day campaign during February. It is an effort to awaken women to the dangers of heart disease.

Heart disease kills more women than all cancers combined. While breast cancer takes the lives of one in 30 women, heart disease ends it for one of every four.
