Phyllis E. Dress, 85, longtime Moses Lake resident passed away Saturday, May 15, 2010 in Lakeridge Special Care Center in Moses Lake with her family by her side. Phyllis was born June 22, 1924 in Albert Lea, Minnesota to Albert and Meta (Bohl) Hougard.
Phyllis was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She enjoyed traveling, shopping, crafts, entertaining her family and friends, her new puppy “Cali”; and her weekly trip to Wenatchee for “hair day”, eating out and shopping. She spent many years working in the Clothing Department at Ranch & Home.
She was a strong woman whose dedication to her family was unparalleled; who helped raise her grandchildren and doted on her great-grandchildren, all while maintaining her feisty spirit and sense of humor. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Peter W. Dress in 1988, brothers Elwood Hougard, Herschel Hougard, sister Lucille Lifeson and her parents.
She is survived by her devoted son William S. “Bill” Dress of Moses Lake, WA; granddaughters Lisa Dress of Seattle, WA, Michelle Dress of Maple Valley, WA, and Christina and her husband Bryan Johnson of Moses Lake, WA, grandson Ron and his wife Michele Bruchet of Olympia, WA; great-grandchildren Taylor, MacKenzie, Chazz, Mikayla, Alexis, Gage and Garrett; brother Clayton “Kyte” Hougard and sister Loey Dillavou; and brothers-in-law Ted and his wife Darlene Dress of Yuba City, California, and George and his wife Mary Dress of Richland, Washington.
A private family memorial service will be held in Immanuel Lutheran Church, with Pastor K. David Daugs, officiating.
