Charles Pool, 71, (Ernie to most, Chuck to his siblings), went to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, Aug. 17, 2008, with his loving family surrounding him, after a courageous battle with cancer. Ernie was a longtime resident of Moses Lake. He was born on Dec. 4, 1936, in Colville, Wash., to John and Gladys Pool. They moved to Selah, Wash., where Ernie went to school and graduated from high school in June 1955. Following high school he enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served from June 1955 to September 1975. Ernie worked as plant manager at Eastern State Hospital in Medical Lake, Wash., for 16 years, then came to Moses Lake to work at Basic American Foods for nine years before retiring. His hobbies were spending time with his grandchildren, family genealogy, fishing, and he was a Nascar racing fan. He was a member of the Moses Lake Church of the Nazarene.
