High school food drive continues

| November 23, 2007 8:00 PM

MOSES LAKE - Moses Lake High School students are accepting donated canned food for the Moses Lake Food Bank through next Wednesday as part of the school's traditional food drive.

Those wanting to donate can bring items to the high school at 803 E. Sharon Ave. starting on Monday, which is when school reopens after the Thanksgiving break, said Debbie Banda, the school's student body advisor.

Last year, 5,500 cans of food were collected, she said.

People wanting to donate should pay attention to the cans' expiration dates so outdated items aren't given, she said.

Students have been bringing canned goods to class this week for a classroom competition, she said.

The winning classroom that collects the most food will be treated to a breakfast made by the school's student body officers, she said.
