Moses Lake Jr. Miss titled

MOSES LAKE — Courtney Earl was titled the 2007 Moses Lake Jr. Miss Saturday night at Moses Lake High School.

In addition to winning the title, she swept the scholastic, interview, self-expression, talent and fitness categories.

During the talent portion of the competition she performed a dance routine to "Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend."

She began dancing when she was 3 years old. She studies ballet, jazz, hip-hop, gymnastics and clogging. She teaches dance classes and is the captain of her high school drill team.

Earl is a member of the honor society and takes courses at Big Bend Community College.

Upon graduation, she hopes to study abroad in London.

When asked what ability she wished she had, Earl replied, "The ability to stop time because I hate the fact time flies when you're having fun."

Sarah Sherman was titled as First Runner-Up. For the talent portion she sang "Think of Me" from "Phantom of the Opera." She is a member of the Moses Lake High School jazz choir and plans to earn a degree in music.

Ashley Cole was titled as Second Runner-Up. For the talent portion she performed a dance routine. She plans to pursue a degree in physical therapy or sports medicine once she graduates from Moses Lake Christian Academy. She earned the community service award.

Kailani Williamson took the Jr. Miss Spirit Award home.
