Norma Jean Pippenger

Norma Jean Pippenger, 76, longtime Moses Lake, resident passed away on Monday, April 17, 2006 at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation Center. Arrangements are in care of Kayser's Chapel and Crematory.

Norma was born on March 6, 1930 in Cheyenne, Wyo. daughter of the late Gordon and Ruth (Spires) Pennock. She was married to Kenneth Elroy Sturm on June 21, 1949 in Rapid City, S.D. With Kenneth serving in the U.S. Air Force they lived several places before settling in Moses Lake in August of 1962. Norma worked at Sprouse-Reitz, Travelodge and K-Mart in Moses Lake. She remarried in May of 1971 to A.Z. "Mike" Pippenger and they traveled around before moving to Moses Lake in 1973 where they have lived since. In the last year they have resided at the Hearthstone.

Norma loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren, dancing, camping, reading, gold panning, visiting ghost towns, HOT weather, pink roses and chocolate!

She is survived by her husband A.Z. "Mike" Pippenger, Moses Lake; three sons and their wives, Kenneth and Janice Sturm, California, Gary and Cindy Sturm, Moses Lake, and Bryan Sturm, Moses Lake; two daughters and one son-in-law, Loraine and Cary Christiansen, Spokane and Lavonne Sturm, Cheney; two sisters, Ruby West and Betty Jane both of Montana; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
