March 8, 1941 – April 15, 2019

On Monday, April 15, 2019, Pauline (Pat) Johnson, 78, loving wife of the late Kirk Johnson and mother of five children, passed away with her devoted daughter Wanda Stewart by her side.

Pat was born on March 8, 1941 in Hubbard County, Minnesota, the youngest daughter of Albert (Shorty) and Susan (née Burch) Zechmeir. Her older siblings quickly proclaimed that they would nickname her “Patsy,” a nickname that stayed with her and was shortened to Pat as she grew older. When she was a baby the family moved to Washington state in the summer of 1943, settling at Granite Falls and then Everett. The family moved to Moses Lake the summer of 1947 where her father found work on the O'Sullivan Dam project. She grew up and attended school in Moses Lake and is a 1959 graduate of Moses Lake High School.

She married Glen Stewart in 1959 while he was stationed at Larson AFB. There were four children born of this union: Kenneth Stewart of Spokane, Washington; Steven Stewart of Clackamas, Oregon; Wanda Stewart of Moses Lake, Washington and Heather Topping (née Stewart) of Nashville, Tennessee. They moved several times while Glen was in the Air Force before being discharged from Newfoundland, Canada, then moved to Portland, Oregon, and Las Vegas, Nevada before they settled in Moses Lake, and later divorced.

She later married Kirk Johnson, and had one child of this union, Patricia Dorrity (née Johnson). Pat loved her husband Kirk and her five children dearly. She enjoyed spending time playing Bingo with her best friends Sharon Steinmetz and the late Shirley Johnston, and being entertained by her four-legged kitty best friends Bandit and Smokey

Pat was a member of the Teamsters Union and retired from Carnation/Nestle after working there for over 20 years.

She is survived by all five of her children; 12 grandchildren Jason Morrison-Stewart, Ginelle Stewart-Greg, Royalanne Hector, Vanity Hector, Emily Stewart, Mckayla Stewart, Melanie Topping (Perry), Bryce Topping, Alex Topping, Christina Dorrity, Brandon Garrett Topping and Rylie Cheyenne Topping; 15 great-grandchildren; her older sister Phyllis Howard (née Weaver) of Warsaw, Missouri and her younger brother Lewis Zechmier of Soap Lake, Washington. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Kirk Johnson; both her parents Albert and Susan Zechmeir; five brothers Wayne-Leland, Vernon and Joseph Weaver and Robert and Roger Zechmeir and two sisters Elinor Weaver Rieker and Barbara Zechmeir Bible.
