Edna L. Keith

September 4, 1921-July 23, 2018. Passed away at home. Born in Hill City, Kansas to David and Ethel (Harrison) Gilson. Her mother passed away when she was about 18 months old.

She was raised by her Aunt Grace and Uncle George Bentley. She attended school in Hill City, Kansas. Graduating with the class of 1939. Her father passed away December of 1938.

On December 20, 1941 she was united in marriage to Ivan Keith of Penokee, Kansas. Their first home was in Independence, Missouri. In 1944 Ivan joined the Navy and Edna returned to Hill City, Kansas to live.

After Ivan was discharged they continue to make their home in Hill City, Kansas. In 1952 they moved to Moses Lake, as Ivan’s name had been drawn for a farm unit in the Columbia Basin, in Block 42. Edna worked for the WT Grant Co for 17 years and after the store closed she worked for Sammons Communication until she retired in 1985.

She was a charter member of the O’Sullivan Grange and Community Club. A member of the Moses Lake Senior Center and the Senior Adult Recreation Club. She attended the Evangelic Methodist Church.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ivan, sons David of Everett, Wash., and Rodger of Henderson, Nevada.

Survivors includes sons Charles (Carol) of Palisades, Wash, Norman (Dolores) of Moses Lake. Three grandchildren Devanie (Brian) Mittleider, Michelle (Brook) Werner, David Keith of the Seattle area. Two great-grandchildren. Stella Mittleider and Dax Werner. Nephew in Billings, Mont.

Several step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.

Memorial will be Sept. 4, 2018 11 a.m. at Peninsula Community Church 2403 W. Texas St., Moses Lake.
