GRANT COUNTY — There were seven new cases of the novel coronavirus reported in Grant County on Friday, bringing the total of confirmed positive cases to 222, according to Grant County Health District.

There were 34 probable cases and 169 tests still pending results. Because of the volume of cases in the last few days, the health district noted that it was unable to follow up on the number of recovered cases on Friday. One person sickened with the novel coronavirus is currently hospitalized.

The district linked the new cases to household contacts, Mother’s Day gatherings and community spread.

As of Friday evening, the Quincy total was 78 confirmed cases, Moses Lake had a total of 48, and the Mattawa area had 55.

In addition to tests that have come back positive, 2,817 have come back negative. The health district said it will not release the next cases update until Monday.
