Coronavirus: Seven new cases reported since Friday

GRANT COUNTY — On Tuesday, seven new cases of the novel coronavirus were reported in Grant County, including new cases reported over the Memorial Day weekend, according to Grant County Health District.

The tally includes two new cases each in Moses Lake, the Mattawa area and the Quincy area, as well as one new case in Warden, according to the health district. Countywide, there have been 205 confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus since early March, the health district reported.

There are also 34 probable cases, according to the health district, as well as 102 tests pending results. As of last Friday, 106 people had reportedly recovered enough to no longer need to be placed under isolation.

The total in Quincy was 75 cases, the Mattawa area has had 51, and Moses Lake’s total was 39 — the three areas in Grant County with the highest number of confirmed cases. There have also been 16 cases reported thus far in Ephrata, 12 in Royal City, five in Warden, four in Soap Lake, two in the Grand Coulee/Electric City area, and one in the rural Othello area of Grant County.

In addition to tests that have come back positive, 2,538 have come back negative, according to the health district. As of Tuesday evening, around 7.5 percent of Grant County tests had come back positive, down from a high of around 13.5 percent at the end of March.
