Coronavirus: 25 new cases

GRANT COUNTY — There were 25 confirmed cases of the coronavirus reported in Grant County on Friday, including eight new cases in the Quincy area, five each in Moses Lake, Mattawa and Warden, and two in Ephrata, according to Grant County Health District.

The health district said “social gatherings and community spread with no known links to confirmed cases continue to drive transmission in Grant County,” with 80 percent of cases symptomatic at the time of the health district interview.

The total of confirmed cases in the county since the pandemic began rose to 1,248, with 10 deaths and 12 people hospitalized, the district reported.

In the hardest-hit areas of the county, there have been 354 cases confirmed in Moses Lake, 293 in the Quincy area, 285 in the Mattawa area, and 100 in Ephrata.
