Coronavirus: Thirty new cases in Grant County

GRANT COUNTY — There were 30 new cases of the coronavirus reported in Grant County on Wednesday, including eight reported in Moses Lake, five in the Mattawa area, five in Ephrata, two in Quincy, two in Royal City and two in Warden, according to Grant County Health District.

Four cases previously reported were identified as residents of another county and have been removed from the Grant County caseload, bringing the total cases since the pandemic began to 729, according to the health district.

Thirteen cases in the county currently require hospitalization. The health district reported Tuesday that 244 Grant County cases had recovered in the last 28 days.

Moses Lake has seen the most cases since the pandemic began with 201 as of Wednesday, while the Quincy area has had 170, and the Mattawa area has had 178 cases.

Of 685 people who have tested positive in Grant County, 83 percent were showing coronavirus symptoms when they received their test results and 15 percent were asymptomatic. It is unknown whether the remaining 2 percent were showing symptoms, according to the health district.
