November 22, 1956 – January 26, 2020

Cheryl Lynn Guffey, 63, went to dance with the angels after a struggle with gastric cancer on Jan. 26, 2020, in Boise, Idaho, surrounded by her loving husband John and family members.

Cheryl was born Nov. 22, 1956, in Moses Lake, Washington to Edwin and Jean (Price) Ruff.

On Oct. 1, 1977, she married her high school sweetheart, John Guffey. Cheryl was an only child but had very special bond with John’s siblings. She graduated from Moses Lake High School in 1975 and immediately was employed with then-Pacific Northwest Bell in Moses Lake. In 1982 they moved to Yakima, Washington where they lived until 1993 when Cheryl was transferred to Spokane, Washington. They lived in Cheney until another transfer came up to Portland, Oregon.

They lived in Vancouver until she again was transferred to Boise, Idaho, where she retired in February 2012 and lived out her wonderful life.

If you knew Cheryl, you knew she was Ms. Unicorn. She loved her unicorns and her pets. She was very artistic with her beautiful crafts. In later years she lived out a lot of her bucket list traveling with her husband John.

Cheryl was preceded in death by her mother Jean.

In lieu of flowers, Cheryl would like donations made in her name to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah.

Services will be held on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Nelson Road Chapel at 1849 Nelson Rd. NE, Moses Lake. A viewing will begin at 9 a.m., with the funeral service at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Guarding Angels in Moses Lake, Washington.
