Donna Litchfield Brown

Donna Litchfield Brown, born Oct. 2, 1950, passed away Jan. 20, 2020, in Moses Lake, Washington.

Donna was born at Travis Air Force Base to Arthur and Dottie Litchfield, the first in the family of five children. She is survived by her husband Jerry Brown, daughter Melissa Gilbert (Tim), mother Dottie Litchfield, three sisters, one brother and four grandchildren Bryce, Emma, Molly and Hunter. She was preceded in death by her father, Arthur, in 2000.

Donna attended many schools as she traveled with her Air Force family, including Medical Lake High School, graduating from Shadle Park High School in Spokane in 1968. After graduation she joined the Army, training as a lab tech and serving in Edgewood Arsenal in Maryland and Germany. While she was in Germany, Melissa was born.

After serving, she moved to Tacoma, Washington and attended Tacoma Community College where she met Jerry and graduated with an AA. Jerry’s career took them to Spokane and eventually to Moses Lake.

Donna attended Big Bend Community College where she graduated and was featured in the paper for her 3.75 GPA and for riding her bike to school each day. After graduating she accepted a position at the college as the Math/Science Resource Center Coordinator.

Finally retiring after 30 years, Donna and Jerry enjoyed Volksmarches, gardening, spending time with family and camping at the ocean.

Inurnment with military honors is planned for Feb. 3, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Tahoma National Cemetery in Covington, Washington.
