MOSES LAKE — Students at Ephrata’s Grant Elementary will get more learning tools, thanks to a donation from Masonic Lodge No. 174 in Moses Lake.

The lodge provides donations “as we hear of a need,” and if the request fits with its values, said Master Jay Mather. “Masons hold a special importance on numbers and symbols,” wrote lodge member Justin Rowland.

Grant Elementary PTO president Gabbi Uhl said she took those values into account, and asked for support for the school’s math team. The $500 donation also will be used to buy books for students, she said.
