MOSES LAKE — A brave and resourceful dog who served on the Western Front in World War I is the subject of a free movie presentation this Saturday at the Moses Lake Museum & Art Center. “Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero” starts at noon in the Civic Center Auditorium.
Seating is limited to the first 200 people.
The movie tells the story of a dog named Stubby, a stray who is adopted by a young soldier undergoing training in the summer of 1917. Stubby went with the unit to France – although he really wasn’t supposed to – and learned to warn his unit of poison gas and artillery attacks. Stubby located wounded soldiers and even caught a German spy by grabbing him by the seat of the pants.
The animated movie stars Logan Lerman as Stubby’s owner, Robert Conroy.
