We held our 31st Relay for Life this past weekend at the Grant County Fairgrounds. I would like to than the Fairgrounds staff for being so amazing and helpful. They have been so amazing in helping us do this event. Jim, Didi, Chris, thank you so much.
To our sponsors, thank you for all your support, Our teams who have stuck through many changes beyond our control, you are truly amazing and understand the importance of the research, early detection and programs the American Cancer Society supports. Without these programs there would be no survivors. To the very small committee that pulls off the event, words cannot express my thanks to you, Josie, Kelly and Shirley. We know how cancer has affected the people in our lives. You have stepped up and taken on a leadership role to help prevent cancer to others in our community. Thank you.
KBSM/KDRM, Nickel Saver and CBH, thank you for advertising and covering our event. Dale, your DJ skills kept us going and laughing. Papa Johns, thank you, the pizza was amazing. So many businesses I can’t name them all, we appreciate your support. While we have become a much smaller event than the past years, the passion is there, the knowledge of what the American Cancer Society is doing in the fight against cancer. We are a DIY event and as such we can apply for a grant to be used in our community, so we not only give back in helping make more survivors, better earlier detection and programs that are used by many, but we can now give a grant to be used by a local cancer nonprofit to help local patients.
Again, thank you to everyone who supported us.
