Sheriff must uphold the law like anyone else

Print Article

After I was elected as a Director of the MLIRD, I had to travel to Ephrata where I raised my hand before a judge and swore that I would uphold the law and the Constitution. I suppose Sheriff Tom Jones did the same. So I find it incredible now that Tom Jones is refusing to enforce the initiative recently passed by the citizens of this state. We, in America, are governed by the rule of law, not the rule of whim. I certainly cannot disobey the law if I donít agree with it without suffering consequences. What a shameful example Tom Jones is setting for the youth of our country.
