ACH volleyball advances to state semifinals

YAKIMA — Almira/Coulee-Hartline won its first two matches at the Class 1B State Tournament to reach today’s semifinals.

ACH began its tournament run with a sweep of Shoreline Christian 25-21, 25-17, 25-23. The Warriors advanced to the state semifinals after sweeping Puget Sound Adventist 25-14, 25-15, 25-13.

In a rematch of last year’s semifinals, the Warriors will meet Pomeroy. ACH defeated Pomeroy in five sets last year before losing to Oakesdale in the championship.

Wilson Creek defeated Grace Academy in five sets 25-12, 15-25, 19-25, 25-15, 15-11 to reach the quarterfinals. Wilson Creek was swept by Pomeroy 20-25, 14-25, 12-25 and will play Puget Sound Adventist in the consolation bracket today.
