Prep roundup: Warden completes season sweep of River View

WARDEN ­— Warden scored eight runs in the second inning and beat River View 12-2.

Rodrigo Ozuna doubled, tripled and scored three times for the first-place Cougars. Kaden Skone began the length second frame with a 2-run double. Wade Visker followed with an RBI triple and Ryan Arredondo added an RBI single to push the lead to 7-1.

Edgar Hernandez capped the offensive eruption with a 3-run single.

Ozuna stole home plate in the bottom of the fifth inning to end the game.

Visker pitched all five innings, scattering five hits with three strikeouts.

Othello 5, Quincy 0

OTHELLO ­— Othello out-hit Quincy 12-2 and won 5-0.

Jonathan Garza pitched a complete game, two-hitter with 11 strikeouts.

Trey Garza doubled and drove in two runs. Nate Garza was 3-for-3 and scored twice.

College Place 5, Royal 3

COLLEGE PLACE — College Place broke a 2-2 tie in the third inning to beat Royal 5-3.

Matt McKenzie drew a bases-loaded walk for the go-ahead run. Sawyer Jenks, Tyler Allred and Gage Christensen had one RBI each.

ROYAL CITY ­— Alonso Hernandez scored in the 85th minute and Royal outlasted rival Wahluke 1-0.

Lizandro Hernandez fed an indirect kick near Wahluke’s goal that Hernandez was able to finish.

“When he (Hernandez) kicked it, I was disappointed with the trajectory, but Alonso Hernandez found a gap, jumped to meet the floated ball and looped it to the near post,” Royal head coach Jens Jensen said. “A Wahluke defender and the goalkeeper tried to reach it, but were unable to clear it and it ended in the net.”
