OTHELLO — The Adams County Sheriff’s Office reports a body was found in an irrigation canal.

Adams County deputies are investigating the discovery and the public is asked to avoid the area of state Route 26, west of state Route 17 and near Othello. ACSO Sheriff Dale Wagner told the Columbia Basin Herald the individual is male, but he could not confirm if foul play is suspected. No other details have been released about the discovery of the body. Wagner said an autopsy is scheduled to determine the cause and manner of the male's death and, possibly, his identity.
