Armed robbery suspect not found at Ephrata hotel after raid

EPHRATA - A police raid at an Ephrata hotel on Tuesday was unsuccessful in apprehending an armed robbery suspect.

Police were searching for the suspect in connection with an armed robbery in the 1400 block of Basin Street. Police records indicate the male suspect allegedly approached two subjects on the porch of an apartment, held them at gunpoint and fired at least one round. Nobody was hit by gunfire, but a wallet was stolen and the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Police were reportedly looking for the suspect at the Sun City Motel on Basin Street Southwest after developing information that he might have been at the location, but police were not able to locate the male subject after raiding one of the rooms, according to the Ephrata Police Department.
