A 51-point win over an underwhelming New Mexico State team didnít do much for Washington State in terms of the Associated Press Top 25 poll, but the Cougars did climb one spot, to No. 22, when the weekly rankings were released Tuesday morning.

Meanwhile, WSU kept its place in the USAToday/Amway Coachesí Poll, which has the Cougars ranked at No. 21 for the second straight week.

The Cougars werenít far off from being No. 21 in the AP rankings, receiving 244 points, two fewer than No. 21 Syracuse.

WSU again is one of five Pac-12 teams ranked in the poll. Utah moved up one spot from No. 14 to 13, trading positions with Washington, which debuted at No. 13 but fell after beating Eastern Washington 47-14. The Utes recorded a more impressive win last week, defeating rival BYU 30-12 on Thursday.

Oregon took the biggest fall of any Top 25 team, dropping five spots from No. 11 to 16 after a season-opening loss to Auburn, which vaulted six places to No. 19 after rallying late to beat the Ducks 27-21 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Stanford is the only other Pac-12 team ranked in the Top 25. The Cardinal moved up two places to No. 23 after beating Northwestern to open the season. Arizona State and USC both received Top 25 votes.

The AP top 10: No. 1 Clemson, No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Georgia, No. 4 Oklahoma, No. 5 Ohio State, No. 6 LSU, No. 7 Michigan, No. 8 Notre Dame, No. 9 Texas and No. 10 Auburn.

The Cougars finally made their way into ESPNís Top 25 power rankings, moving into the No. 25 position after beginning the season unranked.
