Big Bend baseball swept by Yakima Valley

MOSES LAKE — Big Bend suffered a pair of defeats from Yakima Valley 7-4 and 10-0.

In the opener, Yakima Valley broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run fifth inning. Derek Almanza hit an RBI double in the fourth inning to tie before the Yaks responded with five unanswered runs. Heden Stark-Kenison scored on a balk to break the tie in the fifth inning.

Tristen Garland and Christian Santillanes hit RBI doubles for the Vikings.

Yakima Valley broke through in the second game with four runs in the sixth inning to take the lead for good. Clay Ashworth homered twice for the Yaks.
