The Feel Free to Fish Weekend is this upcoming weekend, June 11-12. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife encourages people to go outside and fish any state water without buying a fishing license.
MarDon Resort will have free dock fishing Saturday and Sunday. All kids 12 years of age and younger must have a life jacket on while fishing the dock. (Life jackets rent for $3 at the MarDon Store). Everyone is welcome to begin fishing at 6:30 a.m. until 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Fishers must stop at the tackle shop for free dock passes. Go play outside!
Bass action has been in the Sand Dunes this past week. Several bass anglers have had great action this past week releasing over 30 bass in an evening, using Rebel Pop Rig, Spro Frogs, Spinner baits, Flipping Jigs and especially Yamamoto Senkos.
Walleye anglers this past week have had mixed reports. The best reports have been from Crab Creek above the power lines boat launch headed to Moses Lake Crab Creek channel.
The MarDon fishing dock has been producing some trout, perch, bass and crappie to 14 inches.
Rainbow action using walleye tactics, Rapala Shad Rap and Berkeley Flickershad have been reported at the mouth of Frenchman’s Wasteway and where Crab Creek enters the main body of Potholes Reservoir. Soda, Long and Crescent Lakes are producing walleye and smallmouth bass.
