Local birds enjoy unexpected runoff

SOAP LAKE — An American Robin enjoys a nice dip in a puddle in Soap Lake on April 14. Two House Sparrows, to the left of the Robin, are also taking advantage of the water created by the rain and snow of the days prior. Last week’s unseasonably cold temperatures brought unexpected snow to the area, surprising wildlife and residents alike.
