Quincy extends deadline for small business grants
QUINCY — Council members for the city of Quincy have extended the deadline for applications for Quincy small business grants to Aug. 10 at 8 a.m.
The money for the grants is from the CARES Act federal funds given to the city.
The grants are for Quincy small businesses that were considered non-essential and forced to shut down because of COVID-19. The businesses must have suffered economic loss after March 1 to qualify. They must also have a physical storefront inside Quincy city limits, have been in business for at least one year and have 10 or fewer full-time employees.
Each approved applicant is eligible for up to $5,000, which can be used for rent payments, non-city utilities, operating expenses, marketing and supplies needed for proper social distancing and protective equipment.
Applicants must provide business licenses and a federal tax ID number, as well as financial statements demonstrating the economic loss. Grants are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
