Nevada: 12 more coronavirus deaths, increasing total to 58

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Nevada's deaths from the coronavirus cases have risen to at least 58, an increase of 12, state officials reported.

State officials released the higher number of deaths in a brief statement released Monday night after saying earlier in the day that the statewide total had remained at 46.

Gov. Steve Sisolak's office was investigating whether the additional deaths occurred Monday or whether “there was a lag in timely reporting over the weekend," the statement said.

Nevada has reported more than 2,000 positive tests for COVID-19.

Most people with the virus experience mild or moderate fever and coughing for two to three weeks. Some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, can face severe illness including pneumonia and death.
