Fire destroys house of Othello mayor
Bob Kirkpatrick/The Sun Tribune - Mayor Shawn Logan's house went up in flames July 5. No one was home at the time of the fire. The cause is under investigation.
An early evening fire Wednesday, July 5 destroyed the home of Othello mayor Shawn Logan. Othello Police, EMS and Adams County Fire District #5 personnel arrived on the scene to find the house engulfed in flames.
The Logan's were not at home when the fire broke out. Next door neighbor Dan Lynch was the first to notice smoke coming from the structure and told his wife to call it in.
Lynch said several kids across the street at the skate park at Lions Park came running to the scene to inquire if anyone was inside.
The house was completely destroyed. Homes on both sides of burning structure were never really threatened although the siding on the east outside wall of Lynch's garage had melted a bit.
