Feb. 15

Report of phone scam. Scammers allegedly are requesting donations for hungry children in Moses Lake.

Report of burglary at a business at 1329 E. Wheeler Rd. Unknown suspects broke in and stole tools, no estimated value.

A 28-year-old man was arrested after a traffic stop. When suspect was stopped he tried to run away. He was found a short time later and arrested for obstructing law enforcement, driving without ignition interlock and third-degree driving with a suspended license.

Report of two-vehicle, hit and run accident in the parking lot of a business at 601 S. Pioneer Way. Drivers were backing out and ran into each other; driver of vehicle 2 left the scene.

A woman, no age given, was arrested for burglary and trespassing.

Report of theft from a residence in the 1800 block of Turnagin Place. Unknown suspects stole light bar from a vehicle, estimated value $40.

Report of attempted fraud. Suspect attempted to cash stolen and forged check.

A woman, no age given, was arrested on an outstanding Benton County warrant.

Report of burglary at a residence in the 1300 block of West Ivy Avenue. Victim contacted unidentified suspect at the side of his house, who pretended to be looking for somebody else. Suspect walked down the street, and the victim and a second person went back inside. A few minutes the suspect kicked the door in, held both people at gunpoint, tied up one of the victims and stole money and other items.

A 22-year-old man was arrested for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence) and an outstanding Grant County warrant.

Feb. 16

Report of theft at a business at 813 N. Stratford Rd. Unknown suspect fled the scene in a gray passenger car.

A woman, no age given, was arrested on an outstanding Grant County warrant.

Report of vandalism at a residence in the 2300 block of West Lakeside Drive. Reporting party said unknown suspects slashed a tire on her vehicle.

Report of vandalism at a residence in the 1100 block of West Cascade Avenue. Suspect, a man wearing a hat pulled down, got out of a car and threw a rock, breaking a window in a car parked in the drive. Estimated damage is $300. Car is described as a dark color with purple headlights, a loud exhaust and round taillights.

Feb. 17

A man, no age given, was booked on an outstanding Washington Department of Corrections warrant.

Report of vandalism at a residence in the 1100 block of South Evergreen Drive. Unknown suspects painted graffiti on a vehicle at the residence. Damage was estimated at $50.

Report of assault. Reporting party said she was assaulted at a bar in Moses Lake about two weeks previously, but didn’t know the assailant. She said she has since learned who the assailant was and wanted to press charges.

Report of theft from a business at 404 E. Third Ave. Victim had purse stolen from the business, with subsequent fraudulent activity on a debit card.

A 47-year-old man was arrested for disorderly conduct (domestic violence). Officers were called to the residence, and the man became belligerent toward a family member when he learned he couldn’t force the family member to leave the residence.

Report of two-vehicle, hit and run accident on North Grape Drive. Driver of vehicle 1 merged into the right turn lane, and was rear-ended by driver of vehicle 2. Driver of vehicle 2 did a U-turn and left, traveling southbound. Vehicle 2 is described as a two-door Honda Accord.

Subject confessed his took his brother’s driver’s license and attempted to buy beer at a business. License was confiscated and returned to owner.

Report of suspicious person at a residence in the 2400 block of West Peninsula Drive. Reporting party said he walked out of his residence and ran into an unidentified man, described as wearing a blue hat and coat and carrying a gun.

Feb. 18

Report of attempted fraud at a business at 3000 W. Broadway Ave. A 27-year-old woman attempted to pass a $20 bill marked “for motion picture purposes only.” Employee of the business told the woman they knew the bill was fake. The woman left the business, but returned about an hour later in the same car, making a purchase with real currency. Officers located vehicle and stopped it. The woman was wanted on outstanding warrants, and was arrested. A bag in the car was searched, and was found to contain heroin, drug paraphernalia and 12 fake $20 bills.

A juvenile male was cited for third-degree theft. The subject allegedly attempted to conceal several beers in his jacket at a business at 960 N. Stratford Rd., but was stopped before he could leave.

Report of burglary at a residence in the 4300 block of Northeast Longview Street. No estimate of items stolen.

A 47-year-old man was arrested on five counts of unlawful possession of firearms. Officers received report of domestic disturbance; when officers arrived, family members said the man left the house, but had loaded multiple weapons in his car. The man was stopped, the car was impounded and searched, and officers removed one handgun, two rifles and two shotguns, one of which was sawed off.

A 22-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding misdemeanor warrant.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested for third-degree malicious mischief (domestic violence).

Report of vehicles parked in roadway in the 1100 block of Hill Place. Police arrived and found a car with two different license plates, one of which had been stolen. People at the residence would not identify the owner, so the car was towed.

A juvenile male was arrested on two outstanding Grant County warrants.

Feb. 19

A 26-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding Grant County felony warrant for forgery following a traffic stop.

Report of counterfeit $100 bill at a business at 410 S. Wanapum Dr. Subject asked business employee to verify the authenticity of a $100 bill, but it turned out to be fake. Subject didn’t try to buy anything with the bill.

A 24-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding Grant County misdemeanor warrant.

Report of gas drive-off. The suspect, a 29-year-old woman, was located, but couldn’t pay for the gas. She was arrested for third-degree theft, and for an outstanding Grant County warrant and outstanding Spokane County warrant.

Feb. 20

Report of stolen vehicle from a residence in the 4000 block of Northeast Longview Street. Vehicle was stolen sometime overnight. No suspect information.

Report of theft from a residence in the 1300 block of West Century Street. Unknown suspect stole consumer electronics.

Report of vehicle prowl in a parking lot at 601 S. Pioneer Way. Case is still under investigation.

Report of two-vehicle, non-injury accident at the intersection of North Stratford Road and West Valley Road. Both vehicle 1 and vehicle 2 were making left turns; driver of vehicle 1 drifted into the other lane and hit vehicle 2.

Report of vandalism at a residence in the 1500 block of South Monroe Street. Unknown suspect fired a BB gun at the residence and hit it.

Report of graffiti on a utility box at South Canterbury Lane and East Terrace Avenue.

Report of two-vehicle accident at a business at 1571 E. Yonezawa Blvd. Driver of vehicle 1 backed out of a parking space and ran into vehicle 2, driving by. Driver of vehicle 2 complained of neck pain.

Report of burglary at a residence in the 1000 block of West Broadway Avenue. Thieves broke into the house and stole consumer electronics, unknown value.

Report of theft from a business at 1005 N. Stratford Rd. Suspect, a 29-year-old man, attempted to return merchandise that hadn’t been purchased there.

A woman reported her purse stolen while her car was parked at a business at 814 N. Stratford Rd.

A 21-year-old woman was arrested for possession of controlled substances, on an outstanding felony warrant and an outstanding Washington Department of Corrections warrant.

Grant County Jail

Feb. 19

Kendra Tonasket, 29, no address listed, was booked into the Grant County Jail for third-degree theft, third-degree driving with a suspended license and on an outstanding Spokane warrant for third-degree driving with a suspended license.

Patrick Valline, 47, Warden, was booked on an outstanding Grant County District Court warrant for third-degree driving with a suspended license.

Duane Bolton, 23, Ephrata, was booked on an outstanding GCDC warrant for third-degree theft.

Celeste Whisenhunt, 20, Moses Lake, was booked on an outstanding Grant County Superior Court warrant for possession of controlled substances and an outstanding Washington Department of Corrections warrant for second-degree trafficking in stolen property.

Nikita Anderson, 27, Moses Lake, was booked on an outstanding GCDC warrant for third-degree driving with a suspended license.

Noel Espinoza Olivarez, 28, Moses Lake, was booked on an outstanding GCDC warrant for third-degree driving with a suspended license and an outstanding Franklin County warrant for fourth-degree assault (domestic violence).
