Quincy Irrigation District announces water shutoff date

| August 22, 2018 1:00 AM

QUINCY — Harvest is coming, in fact for some crops it’s already here, and that means the end of irrigation season is approaching. The Quincy-Columbia Basin Irrigation District has announced the final dates for water delivery and the shutoff date for irrigation water at the head of the canal.

October 22 will be the last day farmers can ask for changes to water delivery, said irrigation district manager Darvin Fales. The last full day for water delivery is Oct. 23. Water will be turned off at the head of the west canal Oct. 24, which marks the end of the irrigation season.

People who have questions should contact the area ditch rider or watermaster, Foles said.
