4 injured in collision near Mattawa

MATTAWA — Four people were injured in an early morning rollover collision near Mattawa on Friday.

About 3:40 a.m. Ryan Woodall, 21, of Kennewick, was driving a 2013 Kia Rio south on state Route 243, about 7.5 miles south of Mattawa, when he reportedly crossed the centerline and struck the northbound ditch. Woodall reportedly overcorrected and re-entered the road in the northbound lane. The Kia reportedly rolled several times and came to a rest in the northbound ditch, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Woodall’s passengers, identified as Aubrey Aliment, 21, of Kennewick, Carson Wenner, 22, of Kennewick, Zachary Spitzauer, 21, of Richland, and Christen Carman, 21, of Kennewick, were injured and transported to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland. Woodall was not injured.

The patrol reports drugs and/or alcohol played a role in the collision and Woodall was cited for first-degree negligent driving and driving with his wheels off of the road.
