Goodrich would be a welcome change on school board

| October 19, 2017 1:00 AM

Elliott Goodrich will be a good steward of the taxpayers’ money for Moses Lake schools. He has years of experience planning for and operating a large farming operation. He understands that problems can often be solved without paying out a lot more money. His approach is to study a problem carefully and come to a decision which promises the most success. He then becomes an advocate for that position, exploring its potential as a solution with others, making refinements as needed. He seeks consensus through persuasion and common sense — a marked contrast to the current method used by the school administration which seems to be endless forums to determine which way the wind is blowing. Mr. Goodrich offers leadership qualities we haven’t had.

Just as important, Elliott Goodrich is concerned that our students are not only prepared to enter college, as he did, but that more students complete high school. Attention should be paid to the numbers of students who do not graduate from high school here. Elliott wants their progress monitored as they move through elementary school and junior high. Again, a leadership quality we have not had.

With your support of Elliott Goodrich, we will have an important addition to the Moses Lake School Board.
