Buildings, RVs destroyed in Thursday morning fire

| June 2, 2017 3:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — Two buildings and several RVs were destroyed in a large fire near Moses Lake early Thursday morning.

Firefighters from Grant County Fire District 10 and 11 responded to the fire about 12 miles south of Moses Lake at the Sportsman’s Resort, 6897 state Route 262 East, about 1 a.m. When crews arrived the fire was reportedly already moving fast and went on to destroy the pool building at the resort, two travel trailers, a boat and a “park model” manufactured home, according to the Grant County Sheriff’s Office.

“Firefighters were periodically hampered by the venting and explosions of several propane tanks attached to the structures and RVs. There were no injuries,” stated the sheriff’s office in a release.

A cause for the fire has not been identified. The Grant County Fire Marshal is investigating.
