River Dogs close 13-15 regional tournament with win

CALGARY, Alberta — The River Dogs closed their run at the 13- 15-year-old Babe Ruth Regional Tournament with a win over Kuna, Idaho 14-2.

The River Dogs fell behind 1-0 after the top half of the first inning, but answered with 13 runs in the first three innings.

Breckin Sporseen was 2-for-2 with one run scored and three RBI. Jaxon Rocha, Gavin Gibson and Hunter Gibson had two RBI each.

The River Dogs took the lead for good after a four-run first inning.

Davis Spencer evened the game with a RBI double. Later, Spencer scored on an error and Sporseen hit a RBI single. Nick Gonzales closed the frame with a RBI single.

Gavin Gipson and Logan McGuire allowed no hits in a combined three innings of relief.
