| January 2, 2017 12:00 AM

ROYAL CITY — The Royal High School girls played only one basketball game last week, and it didn’t go well.

Burbank pulled away with a 27-3 second quarter and cruised to a 68-33 victory.

“We got into foul trouble early,” coach Bud Wilhelm said. “That prohibited us from executing our game plan.”

Emma Wilhelm led the scoring for Royal with seven points. Savanna Buster and Mcdarra vonStein each had six.

Jennifer Ledezma had five points, Sophia Rodriguez had four, Sam Dunn had three and Staci Hebdon had two.
