| April 11, 2017 4:00 AM

MOSES LAKE — A 48-year-old woman was taken to Samaritan Hospital and arrested for DUI after she allegedly drove under the trailer portion of a semi early Saturday morning.

Nicolette Johnson was driving west on West Valley Road about 2 a.m. when she allegedly hit the trailer of a truck driving through the intersection of Valley Road and North Central Drive, according to information from the Moses Lake Police Department.

The semi, driven by Ranvir Ghuman, was turning east onto Valley Road, said MLPD Captain Mike Williams. “It was a substantial crash.” Williams said there was no estimate of Johnson’s speed at the time of the crash.

Johnson’s injuries apparently were not life-threatening, Williams said. She was arrested but not booked into the Grant County Jail due to her injuries.
